Maybe. Someday. I’m planning on it.
Our non-committal nature complicates our life. As we add more “maybes” each day, we fill up the queue of things we might do.
This list of things begins to weighs on us. We don’t feel like we are complete. At any given moment, there is stuff that we should probably do.
Projects to start. People to reach out to. Processes to complete.
But in reality, you either do it or you don’t. Everything in our life is binary. It will happen or it won’t.
You can’t actually “maybe” or “someday” do something. On the longer time horizon, there are only two options – yes, or no.
A Black and White You
So as you review your life’s tasks, ask yourself honestly, “am I going to do this or not?”
Being black and white with your commitments is an effective way to simplify your life. The process of truly committing or not committing is acknowledging what is actually a priority.
With more focus, you’ll live a more simple and effective life.
