Overtime, we build these bad habits and mini addictions into our daily routines. The vices that have slowly crept into being accepted as part of our regular behavior.
Just the simple little bad habits that we have. And I have a few… 3-4 cups of coffee a day, my dark chocolate, daily wine, evening work email, and wasting time away on the internet.
Vices often start innocently enough with good intentions. But day after day of repeating them, they slowly escalate to the point where they are no longer benefiting our lives.
So it’s important every once and while to take a break from a vice. Embrace the act of going without, to help you better yourself and your understanding of your habits.
For me personally, today I’m going to be taking a break from the internet. I’ve taken a vacation day to do some personal projects and spend time with my girls. A day that I’d rather not let go to waste.
So instead of catching up on a few of my favorite websites and blogs, I’m just going to take a break from the internet browsing vice, and refocus on other parts of my life.
Consider Your Behaviors
Take some time today to consider what vices or little bad habits you have allowed into your life.
Are there things that you can take a quick break from? If you were to do a No Vice Day, what would you cut out?
